Are you a language tutor, teaching very young children a new language? If so, you should take a read of what we have to say... as we want to help you and your little ones!
Lingua Fonica has created this language learning infographic for kids that is usable by language tutors everywhere. The infographic talks about the dos and don'ts of the language learning process in a simple and comforting way, as it is important to instill the right steps into child learners as they can become easily overwhelmed and put off from progressing in their study... due to feeling a lack of progress.
In the infographic, we recommend that you articulate realistic goals with specific purposes for each of your learners, which will help to guide their learning, as it makes progressing more rewarding and not impossible. We also encourage you to let them know that making mistakes is absolutely fine as long as you learn from those mistakes! You can tell them they are incredibly brave for learning a new language and that mistakes are an inevitable part of the learning process.
We want our little language learners to enjoy their learning, so if they are getting bored then their teachers and parents should definitely switch up how they learn... such as by playing language-based games online, for example.
We also want to remind everyone involved of the importance of patience and to let these young learners take their time because language learning is a continuous lifelong project. Even people speaking their native languages still learn new things about that language every day. So learners should not feel disheartened by not being fluent in a short space of time!
Make sure you put these steps into your little language learners' heads, as it is important that they do not worry about achieving the impossible. The important thing is that they have fun learning, learn from their mistakes, set goals about what they want to achieve, and most importantly, take their time.
I would like to thank you for reading and wish you good luck, as teaching very young children a new language is no easy task! We hope you are able to find the infographic useful in your teaching efforts.
